  1. Youth Summer Tennis Lessons Ages 6-17

    July 25, 8:30 AM - 12:20 PM @ Mary Williams Shea Tennis Courts, Victory Field

    Lessons are held daily from Monday through Friday for 50 minutes. Our lessons include forehand, backhand and overhead shots, serving and scoring. June 30th and July 1st are set aside for placing the students in their proper skills classes.

  2. Pequossette Summer Recreation Program Grades 1-8

    July 25, 8:45 AM - 2:30 PM @ Watertown Middle School

    The Watertown Recreation Department will conduct the Pequossette Summer Program for children entering the first grade this September through grade eight. The first week is a four day week, followed by seven weeks of activities from June 30th through August 15, 2014 at the Watertown Middle School at 68 Waverly Avenue in Watertown. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 2:30 pm except for Friday, July 4th. We offer an early drop off from 7:30 am to 8:45 am and an extended day from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The Middle School and Moxley Playground which includes a large field space, playground area, basketball court, tennis court and a multi-purpose court afford the Recreation Department the opportunity to offer a wide range of activities to entertain the children. Basketball, softball, rag ball, kickball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse and street hockey are just some of the sport activities offered for the children.     This program will stress fun and fundamentals of soccer, T-Ball, and other games. The children will work on skills needed to play these games as well as learn about teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun, safe setting.

    Watertown Recreation Department is offering adult tennis classes to be held on Wednesday evenings, under the direction of Dan Cedrone, Head Tennis Coach at Watertown High School. All students are requested to bring their own tennis racquet. For those without equipment, racquets will be provided.

    A RIVERBOAT CRUISE We start the day with a tour of Smith’s Country Cheese, and then enjoy a delicious luncheon at the 1761 Old Mill where you’ll have a choice of Yankee Pot Roast or Baked stuffed Filet of Sole Almandine. Then it’s off to Northfield MA for a riverboat cruise down the Connecticut River aboard the Quinnetuket II through the French King Gorge, home to nesting bald eagles and the site of a former dinosaur track quarry.
