Special Needs
About Our Programs
There are several courses and sports events organized for our friends who participate in the Special Olympics or just want to have fun and learn new skills. In cooperation, with the Belmont Recreation Department and Belmont S.P.O.R.T., we offer fall, winter, spring, and summer programs.

Brochure and Registration

Please refer to the Belmont S.P.O.R.T. site as well as the Special Needs Calendar to the right to get info on upcoming events. We hope you enjoy your experience and the host of volunteers and employees that make these events possible.

Special Olympics and Scheduling
Our spring courses usually extend into the summer months to prepare for the Olympic Games. The Massachusetts Special Olympics Summer Tournaments are held in mid-June for a whole weekend. The traditional Friday Night Socials are moved to Wednesday night during the summer months. Previous activities have been a Charles River boat cruise, a pool party, bowling and pizza, the Duck Tour, and dinner at the Hard Rock Café.

Volunteering
If you would like to volunteer for any of the programs for our special needs population, please contact this office at (617) 972-6494.
