On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

About Wire Inspection
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, has acted as sponsor of the National Electrical Code (NEC) since 1911. Watertown's Electrical Inspector bases all inspections upon these codes (NEC 2011). The purpose of the code is the practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity. Refer to NEC Article 90.1, Purpose.

About the Wire / Electrical Inspector

The Wire Inspector, commonly known as the Electrical Inspector, is within the Inspectional Division of the Department of Community Development & Planning.

Dave Farrar, Wire Inspector, works closely with the Building, Plumbing/Gas and Fire Inspection Services.

The Wire / Electrical Inspector is a part-time position. 
*New* office hours (effective May 21, 2013):  7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Inspections:  9:00 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
