On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

Public Swimming Pools
The Watertown Health Department is charge with the enforcement of the Massachusetts Swimming Pool Regulation, 105 CMR 435.00.  We routinely inspection and issue operating permits to all public and semi-public swimming pools.

New Swimming Pool Applications
If you wish to construct a public or semi-public swimming pool in Watertown, please submit plans and the Swimming pool Plan Review Application our department and the Watertown Building Department.  Once the construction plan is approved and the building permit is issued, you may start construction of the pool. 

Swimming Pool Permit Renewal
To renew a swimming pool permit the applicant must complete this Swimming Pool Permit Application and submit the required documentation.

Complaints
To file a complaint against a public or semi-public swimming pool, please contact the Health Department by telephone or email.
