How Do I Get a Copy of a Marriage Certificate/License?
By Mail: Allow 10-14 days
A written request must contain the following:
Name of both individuals at the time of the marriage
Date of Marriage
Number of copies ordered
Self Addressed envelope where to be mailed back
Cash, Check or money order in exact amount made payable to Town of Watertown
In Person: Town Clerk's Department, Ground Floor, Town Hall, during regular business hours. Payments may be made in the office or cash or check only. Checks are payable to the "Town of Watertown". Marriage Certificate Request Application
Online: Payments can be made online with electronic check or credit cards. The electronic check option using checking account information is available for a small charge. Credit card payment is available for a convenience fee assessed per transaction by the Payment Service, not the Town.

Watertown Town Clerk application hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, and Tuesday, 8:30 am - 7:00 pm. Please keep in mind during summer months, the Administration Building closes at 2:00 pm on Fridays.
