Contractors must be registered with the Town’s Online Permit System before they can apply for a Building, Electric, Plumbing, Gas, or Sheet Metal Permit. The system is currently used in roughly 20 other communities (such as Belmont, Ashland, and Brockton to name a few).

Make sure that the following steps are followed, applications that are incomplete will be denied.
Complete all sections - all fields that have an asterisk * are required. Some information will not apply to all permits (such as setbacks), it is ok to leave blank in cases like this.
Upload contract ( for building permits pulled by contractor)
Upload plans and another applicable back-up (such as engineering)
Make sure your email is current
Make sure your license and insurance information is current and if not, upload current documents
Pay permit fee
Demolition (full structure) cannot be applied for online, pdf applications can be printed from the Inspectional Services page.
