  • Tomorrow, July 17, Republic Services and an additional vendor will work to complete Tuesday’s trash route and begin Wednesday’s trash route later in the day.
  • Tomorrow, Republic Services and an additional vendor will also work to complete the remaining Monday and Tuesday week A recycling curbside pickup before beginning Wednesday recycling pickup.
  • Please continue to put your bins out at the curb on the day of your scheduled trash and recycling pickup. Keep them on the curb until pickup, and please wait to report a missed pickup 48 hours after your scheduled day.
  • Yard waste remains cancelled, and the Recycling Center remains closed due to the strike.

The City of Watertown continues to take the following steps:

  • The emergency trash and recycling drop-off site at 148 Waltham Street will be open through Friday this week (July 18) from 7:30am – 3:30pm for residents needing to drop-off any overflow trash and recycling. Please limit your drop-off to 3 bags of household trash and/or the equivalent amount of recycling that would fit in your bins. Please prepare to show a license or utility bill to confirm Watertown residency.
  • City Manager George Proakis sat down with WCA-TV for an interview to discuss the impacts of the ongoing strike and the steps the City is taking. Watch it today!
  • The City’s curbside composting program remains unaffected. Sign up for the free program at Black Earth Compost!

Details regarding missed pickups:

  • Please wait to report a missed pickup for 48 hours due to anticipated delays.
  • Residents are encouraged to report a missed pickup just one time between scheduled pickups to the City’s 311 Service Center, on SeeClickFix or the Watertown MA App.
