Remixing the Forest

This immersive experience of music and multi-media installation occurred on the Green at Arsenal Yards on October 18, 2025, highlighting the horticultural diversity of forests. Visitors were invited to impact a musical score and grow a virtual forest by placing a marble. They could track the forest’s growth on a monitor and explore the forest using a virtual reality headset. Inspired by the planting and growth of Watertown’s own Miyawaki forest, 3-D printed lithophane lanterns featuring images of the forest accentuated the nighttime experience.
