Providing cleaner electricity, stable prices, and new choices with municipal electricity aggregation.
The Town has begun the process of implementing the Watertown Electricity Choice program. By bulk purchasing electricity for the entire community, Watertown will seek to increase the amount of clean renewable energy in the community’s electricity supply while also providing a stable electricity price that can protect residents and businesses from the seasonal swings associated with Eversource’s basic service price. Although cost savings can’t be guaranteed, because Eversource reprices electricity every six months, historically programs of this type have offered modest cost savings over the program’s duration.
Any comments or questions on the Plan, please contact Ed Lewis, Watertown Energy Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Public Comment period will run thru June 22nd at 5:00PM.
Also, the Watertown Electricity Choice plan will be discussed at a Public Meeting scheduled for 7:00PM on June 18th in the Town Hall (149 Main Street) Lower Hearing Room. Hard copies of the Aggregation Plan will be available for review at that time.
