Massachusetts Home Care Program

Many services are geared toward seniors that wish to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. This program is administered by Springwell for Watertown residents and provides State-subsidized support services to income-eligible elders with daily living needs.

Springwell

Springwell is the Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) and Area Agency on Aging for Watertown and surrounding communities that coordinates services for elders including:

  • Care Management
  • Caregiver Support Program
  • Congregate Meal Programs
  • Coordination of Home Health Aids, Homemakers and Personal Care Attendants
  • Friendly Visitor Program
  • Home Delivered Meals
  • Respite Services
  • Transportation to Medical Appointments

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility is based on needs and income. Fees are determined on a sliding scale. Caregiver support resources are available regardless of income. Seniors ineligible for funding or subsidy are referred to local home health / homemaker agencies for private pay.

Massachusetts Family Caregiver Support Program

This program is administered through Springwell and provides free services such as an in-home assessment, information and referral, education, and training for spouses, family members, and friends who care for an elder.
