City Clerk

The City Clerk's Office serves as the central information point for residents and visitors alike. The City Clerk is the chief election official, recording official, registrar of vital records, public records official, and licensing officer. It is the mission of this office to be a reliable provider of information and quality services to the community and its residents and to work cooperatively with all departments, boards and committees while complying with state and local statutes.

City Manager

The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City and is responsible to the City Council for the proper administration of all City affairs placed under his charge by or under the charter.

Community Development & Planning

The Department of Community Development and Planning was created by a vote of the City Council in August 1982 providing a formal interrelationship with staff members.

Public Buildings

The department is responsible for keeping 775,000 square feet of space safe, accessible, functional, and inviting while protective Watertown's historic heritage and town pride.

Public Works

The Public Works Department is involved in activities relating to capital planning, engineering, operating and maintaining, constructing and managing public ways and infrastructure, the maintenance of park lands, open space, public grounds and buildings, city cemeteries, town street lights, water distribution systems, sewer and drain collection systems, the City’s urban forestry, and the collection and disposal of solid waste and recycling. Further, the Department also is involved in climate change initiatives, waste diversion, emergency response, snow and ice operations, fire alarm maintenance, water quality and provides oversight on private developments.

Recreation

The Watertown Recreation Department provides the residents of Watertown a wide range of active and passive recreational, leisure, and seasonal activities for all age groups and abilities.

Senior Services

Senior Services provides a variety of social, health, educational, recreational, advocacy, and support programs designed to help Watertown’s older adults age well in the community.

Skating Rink - John A. Ryan Arena

The John A. Ryan Arena provides the residents of Watertown the opportunity to practice and participate in their ice sports of choice for a wide variety of age groups.
